Creating Hosting Plans Custom Attributes

To add a custom attributes group:

  1. Open the Billing Director submenu and select the Product Manager.
  2. Click Custom Attributes on the Product Manager submenu. The list of custom-attributes (if any) appears on the screen.
  3. Click the New Attribute button.
  4. Fill the form that appears on the screen:
    1. Type the name of the custom attribute into the Name field. This name will be displayed in your store (as soon as this attribute will be attached to a Hosting Plan) as the header of options list.
    2. You can check the Exclusive selection box to allow customers to select only one option included in the attribute (create an attribute of Exclusive type). If you want to allow selecting one or more or all options included in the attribute (create an attribute Selectable type), leave this box unchecked.
    3. For attributes of exclusive type, you can use some additional options:

      You can set the selection of one of the attribute options as a condition required for subscription creation. For example, this option is useful for attributes that define a dedicated server configuration, when all the parameters must be clearly specified. To require such a selection, please, check the Force customer to select an attribute option box.

      An attribute options listing order as it is shown on the attribute screen, defines options value (the first option is the most valuable, the last one - the less valuable). For example, for such a custom attribute as Hard Disk you can put options in the following order: 120GB, 80Gb, 40 Gb. To allow customers to change subscriptions from less valuable option to more valuable one (in our example, increase hard disk) , check the Allow upgrade box. To allow customers to to change subscriptions from more valuable option to less valuable one (in our example, decrease hard disk), check the Allow downgrade box. You can allow both upgrade and down grade as well.

    4. Select the type(s) of Hosting Plans the attribute will be available for. To this effect, check boxes next to the hosting plan types.
  5. Click the Save button. The list of all attributes (including the newly created one) appears.

After this, you can add options to custom attributes.

To add options to a custom attribute:

  1. Select the custom attribute you want to add options to.
  2. As the selected attribute details appear on the screen, select the Options tab.
  3. Click the New Option button.
  4. Fill the form that appears:
    1. Type the name of the option into the Name field. This name must reflect the option nature and correspond to the attribute designation.
    2. If you want this option to be pre-selected by default in your store (customer can change the selection), check the Default box.
  5. Click the Save button.

Please, repeat the steps described above to add as many options as needed.

To adjust an attribute options order (upgrade/downgrade):

  1. Select the custom attribute you want edit options order for.
  2. As the selected attribute details appear on the screen, select the Options tab.
  3. Select an option by checking the box next to its name.
  4. Click the Move Up or Move Down button to move the selected option up (count it as more valuable) or down (count it as less valuable) the list respectively.
  5. Click the Save button.
